Tuune success story: ‘I am happier, pain-free, and more comfortable in my body! I feel more me.’

I’ve been using birth control on and off for the last 10 years and with every single one, my period pains have never gone away.

I thought symptoms and side effects were just something that I would have to deal with for the rest of my life.

10 years of birth control trial and error

Since I first got my periods, I have always had bad period pains in my tummy, and this never went away on any of the birth control pills I tried.

 The tummy ache was worst on the day my withdrawal bleed started and, more often than not, was also bad the following day. But, because I’d never known differently, I just thought it was something that I would have to deal with for the rest of my life. 

 I then experienced extra symptoms when I switched to the implant (which was the last method I tried before Tuune). I had such sensitive nipples that even a towel brushing past them, after a shower, was awful. This pain was waayyy worse than the tummy cramps but, even so, I still dreaded the cramps from the withdrawal bleeds as they got worse and worse each cycle.

I also felt sluggish and lazy every time I had either a period, or a withdrawal bleed, and I used to get really bloated! Around the same time, I would get very tearful and often burst out at others. To be completely honest, I didn’t really like myself and didn’t feel very in control of my emotions.

Thankfully, I was in touch with Tuune around the time I had had enough with testing and trialling different birth control options. I wanted to see if Tuune could help me with the symptoms I was experiencing.

My new birth control has been great. Based on my answers in Tuune’s health assessment, I was recommended a new combined pill and was advised to take it continuously (which means no more withdrawal bleeds). 

This was something I had previously never wanted to do but, after learning that withdrawal bleeds on birth control were different from a normal period, as well as having an open discussion and an open mind, I was willing to try anything.

Because I got rid of my withdrawal bleeding completely, my tummy aches improved. Now I am so happy with my new birth control and I won’t go back to anything else for a while. I am the most comfortable I have been with my sexual health in a long time.
